The Zubeida's Tasty Tiramisu

Our Tiramisu is definitely a favourite here at the Zubeida. Filled with decadent cream, aromatic coffee and rich cocoa powder, it sinfully melts in your mouth. Since the season of entertaining is upon us, we thought we'd share our recipe with you and allow you to bring this decadent dessert to your table.

Did you know that Tiramisu literally means "pick me up"? You don't need to be an expert chef to whip it up, and you can definitely customize our recipe to fit your home!


500 millilitres of double cream

250 grams of room temperature mascarpone cheese

850 grams of brown sugar

30 milligrams of coffee (we use dormans coffee)

1 packet of finger biscuits

25 grams of dark chocolate

20 grams of cocoa powder

3 medium eggs


Add the double cream to a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with electric mixers (or use a stand mixer). Slowly add sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks. Add mascarpone cheese and mix just until combined. Set aside.

Add brewed coffee to a shallow bowl and dip the finger biscuits into them. Don't soak, just dip quickly to ensure both sides of the biscuit are wet. Begin laying them down in a single layer of your pan.

Smooth half of the mascarpone mixture over the top. Add another layer of dipped finger biscuits and smooth all the remaining mascarpone cream on top.

Generously dust the top with cocoa powder and refrigerate for 3-4 hours (or overnight) before serving.
